- Slide Beam Structures are a hybrid combination of the Full Cantilever and Standard Post designs.
- A typical Slide Beam structure requires 4 posts, but the posts can be installed on a different grid or size as the top structure. On top of these posts 2 horisontal beams are attached, which results in it being possible to slide the entire top structure in a pre-determined direction after installation. This creates a Cantilevered effect, although 4 posts are still used. The horisontal beams at post height also result in a very sturdy structure and top structure deflection under high wind – loads are greatly reduced.
- The Slide Beam design was necessitated by the market requirement for structures where a high clearance and a substantial overhang is required; such as for large vehicles, trucks & busses. The Slide Beam structure is therefore very practical for use to cover multi lane entrances, such as toll booths, airport or port entrances, terminal building walkways or any other application where a high volume of large vehicles and passengers are present.
